Located deep in the inner ear, it is one of our main organs that detect changes of head position and relays this information to the brain. Analysing this information, the brain sends signals to other parts of your body such as eyes and muscles to maintain our balance and vision.

The Vestibular system has 3 Semicircular canals filled with fluid to detect changes in head movement. Sometimes, small crystals from another part of the inner ear can find their way into the semicircular canals. The presence of these crystals can cause positional vertigo which is essentially an overstimulation of a healthy vestibular system.
