Venkat Acholi (Ven)

Ven is a highly experienced professional in the field of assessing and managing clients with vestibular problems. With over 12 years of experience, Ven has worked in various settings such as emergency departments and vestibular rehabilitation clinics, gaining valuable expertise in both acute and chronic vestibular conditions.In terms of education, Ven completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2002. To further enhance his knowledge and skills, he pursued post-graduate education at the University of Queensland in 2003 and Auckland University of Technology in 2004. It was during this time that Ven developed a special interest in helping patients with dizziness and vertigo, and he decided to undertake the Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency Based Course in 2013.The course was conducted by Susan Herdman and her team of vestibular experts from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Susan Herdman is widely recognized in the field of vestibular rehabilitation and her team is renowned for their expertise. By successfully completing this course, Ven attained the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage patients with vestibular problems.Ven’s extensive experience and specialized training make him well-equipped to assess and treat individuals suffering from vestibular conditions. His knowledge of both acute and chronic vestibular conditions enables him to provide comprehensive care to his clients. Ven’s commitment to continuing education and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field reflects his dedication to delivering the best possible care to his patients.

Dr Ian Parker

Ian graduated with honors in Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland (UQ) in 1996. In 2009, he completed a Master of International Public Health also from UQ. In 2010, Ian obtained his vestibular competency and went on to establish the Vestibular service at RBWH in collaboration with RBWH ENT service. With a total of 27 years of experience as a Physiotherapist, including 12 years specifically in vestibular rehabilitation, Ian has trained numerous Physiotherapists in the assessment and management of individuals with vestibular dysfunction. He has also presented at various national and international conferences focused on Neuro-Otology. In 2022, Ian earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the Australian Catholic University by studying the clinical, cost, service, and patient effectiveness of the RBWH Vestibular rehabilitation service.
